RurAL CAP Recovery BIRCH and RAVEN Program
RurAL CAP's Recovery AmeriCorps program is a one-time addition to the regular BIRCH and RAVEN AmeriCorps Programs due to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Recovery AmeriCorps Members began their year of service on September 16th, 2009 and will complete either 6 months or 12 months of service in their communities. AmeriCorps Members work to address local health and wellness or environmental and energy needs in their communities. Eight BIRCH (Building Initiatives in Rural Community Health) AmeriCorps Members and five RAVEN (Rural Alaska Village Environmental Network) AmeriCorps Members were selected for the 2009-2010 program year.
BIRCH is sponsored by RurAL CAP, the State of Alaska Department of Health
and Human Services, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
