RurAL CAP Students in Service Program
RurAL
CAP, in partnership with the Social Work and Nursing departments at the
Universities of Alaska Anchorage and Fairbanks, provides undergraduate
and graduate students the opportunity to earn an partial education award
by completing community service hours in conjunction with their practicum
requirements.
Up to 80 students per year participate in this part-time AmeriCorps program. Members need to complete 450 hours of service in their community during the academic year. Members receive a $1,250 education award from the National Service Trust after a successful year of service. The program year begins September 1st and extends through the summer.
