The overarching goal of the RurAL CAP VISTA Energy Program (VEP) is to help rural Alaskan communities reduce the burden of energy costs.

VISTA members work to make progress towards program goals. Various communities may be addressing different needs. Realizing that different communities may be at different stages in their assessment and management of energy issues and concerns, there are several work goals that may be targeted by VISTA members, including:

Of utmost importance to the success of the energy program is that local communities and their VISTA members maximize the opportunities afforded by the VISTA program and RurAL CAP to define realistic community goals and to take concrete steps towards those goals. This is the first year of the RurAL CAP VISTA Energy Program; -- let's make it a success!
