Its programs in information technology, criminal justice policy, policy analysis, finance, environmental policy and arts management are respected across the nation and internationally as among the elite. The Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations offers one of the nation’s most pre-eminent programs in nonprofit management.  Since 1984, the Center has set the standard for graduate education for leaders and managers of nonprofit organizations. The Center’s relationship with its four partner schools at Case - the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Law, the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, and the Weatherhead School of Management - provides a multidisciplinary approach to education.  The Center’s programs have been consistently ranked in the top ten programs of this type by U.S. News & World Report.

The Mandel Center offers a Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree, a Certificate in Nonprofit Management (CNM), and a number of dual degree and dual certificate options. Classes are offered in the evening and on weekends. Students have the opportunity within and outside of the classroom to work on projects with Cleveland’s rich nonprofit community.

The Mandel Center would like to recognize those who have served the community through the AmeriCorps program in the following ways:

1.  The Center will waive the $25 application fee for AmeriCorps alumni who apply for the MNO program on a full-time basis, and

2.  For an AmeriCorps alumnus admitted to the full-time MNO in the fall, spring or summer semester, the Mandel Center will provide matching funds in an amount up to twice the AmeriCorps educational award funds requested by the admitted student for the particular semester. This amount, however, cannot exceed thirty-five percent (35%) of the applicable tuition rate in any given semester.

Central College will waive the admission application fee for AmeriCorps or VISTA education award recipients when applicants make an official campus visit through the admission office. 

Central College will offer a Community Service Award to match 100% of the education award over a four year period (25% per year) of full-time attendance as a degree-seeking student for students who demonstrate financial need that is not covered by other gift assistance.  Central College will offer a Community Service Award to match 50% of the education award over a four year period (12.5% per year) of full-time study for students who do not demonstrate financial need or for whom the financial need has been met with other gift assistance.  In no case will the total gift assistance provided by Central College exceed full tuition.  The Community Service Award will be in addition to the scholarship level for which the student qualifies. 

Additionally recipients may qualify for up to 2 semester hours of class credit for one year of completed AmeriCorps service. 
Class credit will be based on specific criteria approved by the Curriculum Committee.

Clark University's (Worcester, MA) Department of International Development, Community and Environment (IDCE) offers at least one tuition-free scholarship to an AmeriCorps alum accepted into one of the four IDCE graduate programs (worth $40,000 at current rates) in: Community Development and Planning, International Development and Social Change, Environmental Science and Policy, and Geographic Information Sciences for Development and Environment. IDCE also matches the education award of every AmeriCorps alumna who enrolls.
