Indoor Air Quality

Introduction

Indoor air pollution can sometimes be more deadly than the air pollution found outside of your home.  Therefore, taking steps to improve indoor air quality by cleaning up, altering your practices, and spreading awareness in your community is a great way to protect the safety and health of everyone.

Below is a list of possible sources of indoor air pollution.  Start by reading through each source and decide where your community could be most at risk.  There are many things you could physically do to help those with indoor air quality problems (i.e. clean), but the most proactive thing you can do is educate the community on how they can help themselves.  The most dangerous threat to an individual is not the source of pollution itself, but rather the lack of knowledge and awareness.  So, start by brainstorming on how you can get the word out and begin educating community members.  Also see 10 Ways to Get the Word Out and Your Community Involved for ideas.
